Street photography or street photography is photography that sincerely captures the human essence in relation to the urban environment.
What happens when we leave the City, call it Buenos Aires, Zaragoza or New York.
In the Abaucán Territory, streets become trails, environment in landscapes.
Is it correct to call it street photography then?
Or would these photos fall into the Portrait category?
Be that as it may, the intention is that the photographer does not participate in the scene, not intervene with his photographic equipment, so that the observer feels like a witness to the framing and the action offered by the image.
I propose these two essays part street photography, portrait and essay that are antecedents of Gentes del Abaucán
ESCUELAS: a panoramic portrait of rural schools made for the Government of Aragon in 2007. I had the pleasure of having the photographers Marta Marco and Rosane Marinho on the team.
&
TRABAJADORES: a comprehensive portrait of the labor scene in 2008, also for the Government of Aragon.
Gente del Abaucán is part of a larger photographic essay, Tierras y Gentes del Abaucán. Another is Territorio Abaucán. The thesis that unites each of the parts is that between human beings and Nature there has always been, and always will be as long as we exist, an indisputable uniqueness, humanity is one more part of it.
Nature and we are ONE.
