Huatungasta, la Troya

In Europe the Roman Empire was born. At the confluence of two rivers whose ancient names are not remembered, where the hills open an entrance to the Fiambalá valley, a clan of Ancient Ones settled in Huatungasta, the Town of the Great Diviners.

According to the evidence, what attracted them was the clay that the ephemeral waters of Troy as the river and its ravine are known today. It became an industry, pottery, important since vestiges were found even in Cuzco de los Incas. The Incas adopted the enclave, for strategic in its imperial structure, privileged capital. It is estimated that when Diego de Almagro arrived in the city more than 4,000 souls inhabited it.

Faced with disagreements with the new conquerors, many old ones took refuge in the depths of the Torya ravine, where according to the chronicles they were massacred in such a way that it is said that the waters came down dyed red.

Red follows the water to remind us of the massacre. From Huatungasta, only stones and adobes that time crumbles as if wanting to erase History.
