What's new?

All the sensations that stimulate us

the Abaucan Territoryand let us share

with you

En realidad el monte no se llama Abaucán. No se el nombre aún pero eá en el territorio que damos en llamas Abaucán.
ABAUCAN, de la serie Territorio Abaucán.

I found out because Mario Quiroga, a fellow photographer from Catamarca, told me. It has already been published in the provincial media. I was waiting for an official confirmation to spread the news: I was awarded the 1st prize, professional category, of the Catamarca al Natural contest. Naturally I am very satisfied.

The winning photo is part of the work in progress Territorio Abaucán, a way of reinterpreting the imposing landscapes of this volcanic Catamarca region an the effect on the people who inhabit it.

I was never fond of contests, a lot of competition circulates in the professional field, rather my journey was through the different paths that photography proposes.

Vistas del Pirineo aragonés desde Belchite un día de tormenta al amanecer.
Pyrenees, the starting of understanding landscape language.

Grateful, of course, to the jury, Ariel Pacheco and Carolina Cabrera and the plastic artist Marcelo Villagra, who knew how to interpret the other reality that this work proposes.

"Corpachada" is feeding the Pachamama, Mother Earth. It is evident that our planet Home does not need precisely food. We are the ones who need the spiritual nourishment provided by the act of "corpachar". Thank Mother Earth because everything we are we take from Her. Treat it with love and gratitude and thus receive it in return, not from the dust and stones that we see but from the invisible, which is essential.

On the first of August, a month is inaugurated in which the Pachamama is celebrated, with the desire to give and receive with generosity. A celebration that this year we live in the Cañón del Indio, the heart of the "Loro Huasi", ascending to the mountain range and to the sky. With a night walk to admire stars and galaxies, distant, infinite, vast Pachas for our senses, it is essential, it is invisible.

Thanks to the people of Pinawalla Turismo who organized everything fantastic, to the Artisans, proud collas, who officiated the ritual and to all the attendees who contributed their good vibes to make it a special moment.

Beautiful, intense, the presence of Doña Lorenza Mamaní, Lorenza Sola, whose very presence made the soul of those present vibrate.
